Andhra Pradesh Government Temporarily Halts Reverification of SADAREM Certificates for Disabled Pension Beneficiaries

Amaravati, September 2, 2025 –

The Andhra Pradesh Medical and Health Department has announced the temporary suspension of the SADAREM certificate reverification process, which was being conducted to identify ineligible beneficiaries under the disabled pension category.

5 Lakh Certificates Reverified So Far

According to official data, Andhra Pradesh currently has around *7.38 lakh disabled pension beneficiaries. Out of these, the certificates of nearly *5 lakh individuals have already undergone reverification. Authorities confirmed that the process for the remaining 1.38 lakh beneficiaries is still pending.

During the eight-month-long review, nearly *1.35 lakh beneficiaries were declared ineligible. However, those who believed they were wrongly marked as ineligible were given the chance to **file appeals. Sources reveal that around *95% of such individuals have already appealed, requesting a fresh disability assessment.

Reason for Suspension

Officials clarified that the reverification process has been temporarily halted to avoid delays in conducting fresh disability tests for those who appealed. Until further government orders, no new notices will be issued for reverification across districts.

Impact on Disabled Pensioners

The decision comes as a relief to thousands of disabled pension beneficiaries who were concerned about delays and repeated verifications. With the suspension in place, authorities are expected to focus on re-examining cases where appeals have been filed, ensuring that eligible beneficiaries are not deprived of their pensions.

What is SADAREM?

The SADAREM (Software for Assessment of Disabled for Access Rehabilitation and Empowerment) system was introduced by the Andhra Pradesh government to ensure scientific and transparent certification of disability. It plays a crucial role in identifying eligible individuals for welfare schemes, including pensions.

What’s Next?

The state government is expected to issue fresh guidelines soon on how to proceed with pending assessments. Until then, the reverification drive will remain on hold.
