**New Delhi, October 14, 2024**: An Air India flight en route from Mumbai to New York was forced to make an emergency landing at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Monday morning after receiving a bomb threat. The aircraft, carrying hundreds of passengers, is currently grounded as authorities conduct a thorough security search.Police officials confirmed that bomb squads and security teams are conducting rigorous checks inside the plane to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew. “The investigation is being carried out following strict security protocols. Passenger safety is our top priority,” said a senior police officer on the scene. The flight, which was originally scheduled to continue to New York, will only be allowed to depart from Delhi after the completion of all security checks, which are expected to take several hours. This incident follows a recent bomb scare at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, where an IndiGo flight was grounded after receiving an anonymous email claiming a bomb was on board. Authorities are on high alert, and investigations are underway to trace the sources of these threats. In both cases, passengers were left shaken, but there were no injuries reported. As of now, there is no confirmation on the origin of the threat call made to the Air India flight. Passengers are being kept informed, and airport authorities are taking every measure to minimize disruption while ensuring complete safety.
