New Delhi, August 5:
In a major update in the sensational Vivekananda Reddy murder case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has informed the Supreme Court that the investigation has been concluded. The agency stated that it is prepared to proceed further if the court instructs it to do so.
During today’s hearing, the CBI submitted a status report before the Supreme Court bench. The agency clarified that unless directed otherwise by the court, no additional probe is required at this point.
The case is being monitored by a bench headed by Justice M.M. Sundresh. Fresh arguments related to the case are expected to resume shortly in the top court.
Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, a former Andhra Pradesh minister and the uncle Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, was brutally murdered in 2019 at his residence in Kadapa. The case has remained in the national spotlight due to its political implications and prolonged investigation.
The Supreme Court had earlier transferred the investigation to the CBI to ensure transparency and fairness. Multiple charge sheets have since been filed, with several arrests made.
