A horrifying rail accident struck the Bilaspur-area on Tuesday afternoon when a passenger train bound for Korba rammed into a stationary goods train near Jairamnagar station in the Bilaspur district. Initial reports confirm at least six fatalities and numerous injured.

Around 4 p.m., a MEMU passenger train collided with a goods train on the Bilaspur–Katni section.
The impact was so strong that several passenger coaches derailed and climbed over the goods train.
