Congress Leader Demands Quid Pro Quo Case Against Harish Rao Over Dairy Supply Allegations
Hyderabad, August 27, 2026: A fresh political controversy has erupted in Telangana over alleged irregularities in milk procurement and supply during the previous BRS government.
The latest allegation targets former minister and BRS leader T Harish Rao. The critic has demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy order a quid pro quo case if there was no political understanding with Harish Rao in London.
The allegation is that Harish Rao used his ministerial position to benefit a private dairy linked to his family. The critic claimed the dairy supplied milk to corporate colleges, institutions and hospitals.
He further alleged that the business ran for nearly eight years and generated hundreds of crores in revenue.

Questions over Vijaya Dairy operations during the previous BRS regime have surfaced before.
In September 2024, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy ordered officials to examine alleged irregularities in the state-run dairy. Reports at the time said complaints had been received about private dairies allegedly linked to Harish Rao’s relatives.
The complaints reportedly included allegations that milk was supplied to government institutions without following a tender process. Revanth Reddy directed officials to examine the financial impact on Vijaya Dairy and other related issues.
The latest allegations now bring the dairy issue back into the political spotlight.

The controversy is unfolding amid continuing political attacks between the Congress government and BRS leaders.
Harish Rao has repeatedly criticised the Revanth Reddy government on issues ranging from irrigation and welfare schemes to alleged corruption. Congress leaders, in turn, have targeted the former minister over decisions taken during the BRS administration.
