Harish Rao Targets Revanth Reddy Over Tirupati Reddy’s Security
Hyderabad: BRS leader T. Harish Rao has criticised Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over the security arrangements provided to his brother, Tirupati Reddy.
Harish Rao claimed that Tirupati Reddy is not even a ward member. Yet, he alleged that the government has provided him with four gunmen and security costing around ₹40 crore.
The BRS leader questioned Revanth Reddy’s remarks about the expenditure incurred on the security of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
Harish Rao accused the Chief Minister of engaging in “diversion politics” instead of addressing issues in the state.
He further alleged that Revanth Reddy lacks the courage to participate in a political debate. Rao also questioned his ability to effectively run the Telangana Legislative Assembly.
The comments come amid an intensifying political confrontation between the Congress government and the BRS in Telangana. Revanth Reddy and BRS leaders have continued to exchange sharp allegations over governance and political issues.
The issue of Tirupati Reddy’s security has previously drawn criticism from opposition figures. Former IPS officer and BRS leader R.S. Praveen Kumar had also questioned the security cover reportedly provided to Tirupati Reddy.
Harish Rao’s latest remarks are likely to add another layer to the ongoing political dispute between the ruling Congress and the BRS.
The Congress government has not, in the sources reviewed for this report, publicly confirmed Harish Rao’s ₹40-crore figure.
