Hyderabad: 22 Arrested in Manneguda Cockfight Raid, Property Worth Rs 35 Lakh Seized

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, Shamshabad Zone, along with Adibatla Police, arrested 22 people during a raid on an alleged cockfighting operation in Manneguda.

The action was carried out on Saturday, September 5, under the Adibatla police limits. Police said the operation was being conducted at an old poultry farm.

Police Raid Gambling Den in Manneguda

According to the police, the Task Force received information about an alleged gambling den linked to cockfighting. A joint team then conducted a raid at the location.

Several roosters and people allegedly involved in the activity were found at the spot. Police detained 22 persons during the operation.

Vehicles, cash and other items were also seized during the raid. The total value of the seized property was estimated at around Rs 35 lakh.

Poultry Farm Allegedly Used for Cockfighting

Police said the organisers were operating an old poultry farm in the area. The farm was allegedly being used to rear roosters specifically for cockfighting.

The arrested persons were taken into custody for further investigation. The seized property was also documented as part of the case.

Further legal action is being taken by the Adibatla Police. The authorities are also examining the role of others who may have been connected with the alleged operation.
