Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday flagged off 21 trucks loaded with relief material for flood-hit areas of Punjab. The initiative comes as part of Haryana’s continued efforts to support states severely impacted by recent floods.
Speaking at the event in Kurukshetra, CM Saini said that the devastating floods in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir have displaced thousands of families and damaged several villages. “Common people are facing immense hardships. Haryana stands shoulder to shoulder with them in this time of crisis,” he said.
Haryana Extends Support to Neighbouring States
The Chief Minister informed that Haryana has already provided ₹5 crore in immediate financial assistance each to *Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. He added that BJP workers, social organisations, and volunteers from Haryana are *working tirelessly to deliver aid to flood victims.
Relief Materials Sent to Punjab
The 21 trucks flagged off from Kurukshetra are carrying food items, clothes, medicines, and other essential supplies. These relief materials will be distributed to affected families across Punjab in coordination with local authorities.
CM Saini praised the collective efforts of citizens, NGOs, and party workers, saying their contribution reflects the spirit of unity and compassion in times of adversity.
A Message of Solidarity
“Natural disasters do not recognize boundaries. This is a humanitarian crisis, and Haryana will continue to extend every possible help,” Saini said, assuring further assistance if required.
