Heavy Rainfall Hits Mancherial District: Bellampalli Records 76.2 mm

Widespread rainfall lashed several parts of Mancherial district on Friday, bringing relief from the scorching heat but also raising alerts in low-lying areas.

According to official data, the district recorded an *average rainfall of 45.4 mm, with *Bellampalli mandal witnessing the highest downpour of *76.2 mm. The rainfall has rejuvenated local water bodies and agricultural fields, especially in rain-fed areas, signaling a positive trend for the ongoing *kharif season.

Other mandals also experienced moderate to light showers. *Hajipur received 39.5 mm, followed by **Bheemini at 28.9 mm, and *Kasipet with 26.7 mm of rainfall. *Tandur recorded 17.2 mm, while *Mancherial town itself received 21.8 mm of rain.

Smaller amounts of rainfall were noted in areas such as:

  • Naspur – 15.3 mm
  • Jaipur – 13.2 mm
  • Kannepalli – 7 mm
  • Luxettipet – 4.4 mm
  • Chennur – 3.1 mm
  • Nennel – 2.5 mm
  • Vemanapalli – 1.7 mm
  • Jannaram – 1.2 mm

Local residents welcomed the showers as a much-needed respite after weeks of dry weather. Farmers across the region are hopeful that this spell of rain will help in timely sowing and boost crop productivity.

The rainfall is expected to significantly aid in the sowing of key crops like cotton and red gram. With more showers predicted over the next few days, agricultural officers have urged farmers to make use of the moisture levels for preparing seedbeds and sowing activities.
