A surface circulation has developed over the *northwest Bay of Bengal, which, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), is likely to *intensify into a low-pressure area by tomorrow.
Due to this system, widespread rainfall is expected across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the next two days. Coastal districts in Andhra Pradesh are already experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall, which is expected to intensify in the coming hours.
IMD forecasts that gusty winds ranging from 40–50 km/h may accompany the showers in several regions, especially near coastal areas and higher altitudes.
Rain Alert in Andhra Pradesh
Residents in Coastal Andhra districts are advised to remain cautious. Heavy rains may cause waterlogging, traffic issues, and flash floods in low-lying areas.
Red, Orange, and Yellow Alerts in Telangana
In Telangana, the rainfall situation is more severe. The IMD has issued:
- Red Alert for:
- Komaram Bheem Asifabad
- Mancherial
- Nirmal
- Peddapalli
These areas are expected to receive extremely heavy rainfall over the next 24–48 hours.
- Orange Alert for six other districts (including areas in northern Telangana), signaling the likelihood of very heavy rainfall.
- Yellow Alert has been issued today for 14 districts, urging residents to stay updated and prepared for sudden downpours.
Hyderabad Weather Update
Hyderabad city has been witnessing nonstop rainfall since morning. Overcast skies, reduced visibility, and waterlogging have been reported in several zones, including LB Nagar, Kukatpally, and Mehdipatnam. Commuters are advised to take precautions and avoid unnecessary travel during peak rain hours.
