Hyderabad, July 20: Attapur Police, along with the SOT Rajendranagar team, busted an alleged ganja trafficking network and arrested six persons while seizing 8.410 kg of ganja, electronic weighing machines, a sealing machine, packing materials, multiple mobile phones, and a motorcycle used for transportation.
According to police, the operation was carried out after receiving credible information about the delivery of ganja near Hanuman Temple on Bhopal Nagar Road in Attapur. Acting on the tip-off, police intercepted the suspects and recovered the contraband from a luggage bag.
Police identified the arrested accused as Mohd. Faizan Bakshi (19), alleged main peddler; Syed Sadiq (40), alleged sub-peddler; and Ali Ahmed, Riyaz Ahmed Khan, Mohd. Jaffar, and Tausif Baig, who are alleged to have come to purchase ganja. Police said the main supplier, identified as Sailesh of Nagpur, Maharashtra, is absconding.
A case has been registered under Crime No. 829/2026 at Attapur Police Station under Section 8(c) read with Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act. The arrested accused have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody, while efforts are underway to trace the absconding supplier.
Police stated that the operation was conducted under the supervision of senior officers of the Hyderabad Commissionerate.
