India continues to maintain a low count of active COVID-19 cases, with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reporting 196 active infections across the country as of Friday.
According to official data, West Bengal currently has the highest number of active cases at *41, followed by **Maharashtra (30), **Jammu & Kashmir (29), **Uttar Pradesh (13), and **Kerala (11). Several states and union territories, including **Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Meghalaya, Odisha, and Telangana, have *zero active COVID-19 cases, reflecting effective containment and recovery rates.
Health experts note that while the numbers are encouraging, continued vigilance is essential, especially with seasonal flu and other respiratory infections on the rise. The government is urging citizens to maintain hygiene practices, ensure full vaccination, and seek medical advice promptly if symptoms occur.
