Budget carrier IndiGo Airlines has announced that all flights to and from Kathmandu will remain suspended until 1800 hours on September 10 due to the continued closure of Tribhuvan International Airport.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), IndiGo said it is working closely with authorities and is ready to resume services as soon as permissions are granted.
Waivers for Passengers
IndiGo has also extended waivers on rescheduling and cancellations for passengers booked to travel to or from Kathmandu. The waiver is applicable for tickets booked *on or before September 9, and is valid for travel until *September 12.
Passengers can reschedule their flights without additional charges or opt for cancellation refunds, depending on their preference.
Coordination with Authorities
The airline added that while operations remain on hold, its teams are actively coordinating with airport and aviation authorities to ensure a smooth resumption of services once clearance is received. IndiGo also assured travelers that customer assistance teams are on standby to provide support.

The disruption has affected a large number of travelers, especially tourists and business passengers who use Kathmandu as a major travel hub. Other airlines have also scaled down or temporarily halted operations in Nepal amid ongoing unrest and airport closures.
