Hyderabad, July 28, 2025:
Minister Seethakka has announced that the Telangana government is actively considering an increase in the budget allocation for the *Indiramma housing scheme, especially for *Scheduled Tribes (ST) and underprivileged communities.
Speaking to the media, Seethakka pointed out a harsh reality: many tribal families in Telangana still don’t have proper housing. “We are evaluating the need to enhance the budget for housing schemes. Every family deserves a safe roof over their heads,” she said.
The Minister also mentioned that a key demand has been made to relax the minimum land ownership requirement for ST families to be eligible for Indiramma houses. This proposal will soon be taken to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for further discussion and resolution.
Seethakka assured that all development works in tribal areas will be carried out on priority. “Pending bills related to tribal welfare works will be cleared without delay,” she stated, emphasizing the government’s commitment to timely payments and project completion.
The move to increase housing scheme funds is expected to bring relief to thousands of tribal families living in remote and forested regions. Local activists and public representatives have welcomed the statement, calling it a step in the right direction toward inclusive development.
The Indiramma housing initiative is one of Telangana’s flagship social welfare programs, aiming to provide free or subsidized housing to economically weaker sections. Enhancements in funding and eligibility may give the scheme renewed momentum.
