Ranchi | Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren chaired a review meeting on Monday and directed officials to intensify the promotion of the state’s “Plant One Tree, Get Five Units of Free Electricity” scheme to encourage environmental conservation and public participation.
The Chief Minister also instructed the Forest Department to promote the commercial cultivation of cashew and bamboo, aiming to improve farmers’ incomes while expanding green cover across the state.
During the meeting, Hemant Soren emphasized the need for the speedy disposal of forest land rights (forest patta) cases, ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive their entitlements without unnecessary delays.
To boost tourism and sustainable development, the Chief Minister directed officials to work in close coordination with Visit Jharkhand to accelerate eco-tourism initiatives, highlighting the state’s natural beauty and creating new livelihood opportunities for local communities.
The review focused on strengthening environmental conservation, rural livelihoods, and tourism while ensuring effective implementation of government schemes across Jharkhand.
