KCR Avoids Meeting Daughter Kavitha During Visit to Family Farmhouse

Hyderabad, August 16, 2025:

A quiet family gathering at former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s (KCR) farmhouse has stirred political talk, as his daughter and BRS MLC K. Kavitha reportedly failed to meet him directly.

According to party sources, Kavitha visited the farmhouse to seek blessings for her son before leaving for the United States. However, photographs or videos confirming a meeting with KCR have not surfaced. Leaders familiar with the development claim KCR showed little interest in meeting his daughter, though he did briefly interact with his grandson.

KCR Spoke Only With Grandson

Insiders say KCR called his grandson aside, spoke with him for a few minutes, and then sent him back. Kavitha, however, could only meet her mother during the visit.

Kavitha is said to be travelling to the U.S. to accompany her younger son, who is resuming studies at an American college after his summer break. The farmhouse visit was reportedly planned to allow her son to spend time with his grandfather before leaving.

Political Friction in the Family

BRS circles suggest that KCR’s cold stance stems from dissatisfaction with Kavitha’s independent political moves under her “Jagruthi” platform and her recent critical remarks against her brother and state minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). Party insiders believe KCR feels Kavitha’s actions are damaging the BRS image and are therefore choosing to keep distance.

This is not the first time Kavitha faced such a situation. Even before KCR appeared before the Kaleshwaram Commission, she visited the farmhouse but could not secure a conversation with him.

What Lies Ahead

BRS leaders speculate that while KCR remains upset, he may not take any immediate disciplinary action against his daughter. Instead, he is expected to maintain silence and keep her at arm’s length until she makes her own political decisions.
