Mysuru, Karnataka | July 20, 2025 –
In a fiery speech at a public event in Mysuru, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, accusing them of neglecting critical national issues while focusing on political optics.
Kharge questioned PM Modi’s absence in *violence-hit Manipur, saying, “The Prime Minister has traveled to 42 countries across the world, but has not found time to visit Manipur.” He emphasized that despite Manipur witnessing *over a year of ethnic conflict, the Prime Minister has avoided direct engagement with the affected people.
Sharp Criticism Over BJP and RSS Agenda
Taking the criticism further, Kharge alleged that the BJP and RSS are attempting to tamper with the Indian Constitution, an act that, he claimed, the people of India will never accept.
“Indians will not allow any government to rewrite the very foundation of our democracy,” he said.
‘Congress Delivers, BJP Talks’: Kharge
Drawing a pointed comparison between the functioning of the Congress and BJP, Kharge stated, “In Congress, we believe in performance. In BJP, it’s all about speeches and no delivery.” He accused the ruling party of making hollow promises while ignoring real issues on the ground.
Defending Karnataka’s Financial Health
Responding to BJP’s criticism that the Congress-led Karnataka government is facing financial distress, Kharge firmly rebutted the claims.
“The Karnataka government is not bankrupt as alleged by BJP leaders. These are politically motivated narratives aimed at misleading the public,” he clarified, backing the Siddaramaiah administration.
The event drew significant public attention as Kharge continued to position the Congress as a defender of constitutional values and grassroots governance, amidst rising political temperatures ahead of the next round of state elections.
