Hyderabad : Police intervened as Mahila Congress activists, led by State President Sunita Rao, attempted to besiege the BJP state office demanding the implementation of 33 percent reservation for women. The protest unfolded on Wednesday, with activists staging a sit-in on the steps of Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad.Carrying placards and chanting slogans against Prime Minister Modi and the BJP government, the Mahila Congress members called for immediate action on women’s reservation. As the protest escalated and the group moved towards the BJP office, police erected barricades to block their path.A confrontation between the police and protesters ensued, resulting in a scuffle and heated exchanges. Despite the tensions, Sunita Rao affirmed her commitment to fighting for “Nari Nyay” (justice for women), vowing to continue the struggle until women’s reservation is fully implemented.
