Major Bureaucracy Shuffle in Andhra Pradesh Before Assembly Session

Amaravati — September 8, 2025

Ahead of the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Assembly session, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is orchestrating a significant reshuffle of IAS and IPS officers. The political leadership is focusing on administrative reforms to streamline governance.

What’s in Store?

Spanning from secretaries to district-level officers, the transfers will include department heads, district collectors, and police superintendents (SPs).
Key positions in the CRDA (Capital Region Development Authority) and power distribution sectors are also expected to see changes.

How Did This Unfold?

Over the past two days, CM Chandrababu Naidu held extensive reviews with senior officials. On Sunday, discussions continued with officials to finalize the list. The first batch of transfers is nearly confirmed and expected to be announced within two to three days.

Performance-Driven and Proactive

The selection process was rigorous, guided by performance reviews, citizen feedback, and punctuality in implementing flagship schemes. Findings from these assessments were used to craft the final transfer list.

How It Will Roll Out

The reshuffle will begin at the state secretariat level, cascading down to district-level postings. The aim is to complete transfers before the Assembly convenes, marking a swift reorganization of the administrative system.
