Modi to Launch ₹7,823 Crore Projects in Telangana on May 10 Visit
Union minister G. Kishan Reddy announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would inaugurate and dedicate projects worth ₹7,823 crore to the people during his first visit here in his third term on May 10. He will later address a public meeting at the Secunderabad Parade Ground.
Speaking at a press conference here, Reddy highlighted the party’s strengthened position post-Lok Sabha elections, with 40 lakh new members and victories in MLC, panchayat, and municipal polls. He noted that the Modi government had sanctioned ₹85,000 crore in railway projects, most of them nearly 90 per cent complete including the rail manufacturing unit in Warangal which would generate 10,000 jobs.Reddy said tender works for MMTS Phase II from Hyderabad to Yadadrigutta had been issued and land acquisition was awaited. Construction on the Sammakka Saralamma Central Tribal University campus would start soon, with ₹1,000 crore approved. A ₹400 crore National Science Centre at Tarnaka nears completion, set to boost research in defence, pharma, medical, IT, and allied sectors.
The detailed project report for the Regional Ring Road (South) was being finalised, with land acquisition to follow Cabinet approval — after which the Prime Minister will inaugurate the works. Modi will also launch the greenfield smart industrial city at Zaheerabad, one of 12 nationwide “plug-and-play” projects. With ₹1,695 crore in infrastructure, it promises 1.52 lakh direct jobs and 10 lakh indirect ones, Reddy saidAt Warangal’s Kakatiya PM Mitra Mega Textile Park—one of seven national hubs with ₹2,000 crore investment—MoUs are signed with Kitex, Youngone (a Korean MNC), and another exporter. These units have started construction, targeting 24,000 jobs.
Modi will inaugurate a ₹611 crore petroleum products terminal at Malkapur (1.6 lakh KL capacity for petrol, diesel, aviation fuel, and lubricants) to serve the state. He will virtually lay foundations for ₹3,175 crore national highway projects in Mahbubnagar, plus the ₹1,243 crore Kazipet-Vijayawada third rail line, and bypass roads at Kazipet and Peddapalli to ease congestion.
