*Meerut, September 14 (ANI):* A tragic incident occurred in the Zakir Colony of Meerut district, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday evening when a three-storey building collapsed, leaving nine people dead, five others injured, and one person feared trapped beneath the debris. The collapse took place around 5:15 PM, immediately prompting a swift response from emergency services. The injured were quickly transported to Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College for urgent medical treatment.District Magistrate Deepak Meena confirmed the incident and stated that rescue efforts are ongoing. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the fire brigade, and the local police are working tirelessly at the site to search for survivors and remove debris. The cause of the collapse is not yet known, and authorities are conducting an investigation.
