Now File Consumer Complaints via WhatsApp: Union Ministry Launches Chatbot Service

*September 29, 2024*: In a major consumer-friendly initiative, the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs has launched a new ‘WhatsApp Chatbot’ service, making it easier for consumers to file complaints from the comfort of their homes. Whether it’s being charged more than the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) or dealing with poor-quality products and services, consumers can now seek redress through this new service. To file a complaint, users can simply send a “Hi” message to WhatsApp number **88000 01915** and follow the chatbot’s instructions to register their grievances with the National Consumer Helpline. Once registered, the complaint will be forwarded to the respective District Consumer Commission for resolution. Consumers will also receive necessary advice and updates throughout the case resolution process. In addition to the WhatsApp service, consumers can also file complaints via the toll-free helpline numbers **1800 11 4000** or **1915** (available from 8 AM to 8 PM). The Ministry of Consumer Affairs has also introduced a dedicated section, *’NCH Success Stories’*, on its website ([consumerhelpline.gov.in](https://consumerhelpline.gov.in/)), showcasing successfully resolved cases. This initiative aims to streamline the consumer grievance process and ensure quick and efficient resolution for thousands of complaints registered daily.
