In a scathing critique of the current administration, former minister and MLA Sabitha Indra Reddy has raised serious concerns over the rising incidents of violence against women. She revealed that more than 1,800 cases of rape and other atrocities against women have been reported in the past eight months, calling it a shameful period for the state.Reddy condemned the government for its inaction, stating, “This administration has become an insult to women. The Chief Minister does not even have time to respond to the killings and violence against women in the state.” She further urged the government to take immediate action to address the growing threat to women’s safety and ensure stricter laws and enforcement to curb such crimes. Women’s rights organizations and opposition leaders have echoed similar sentiments, calling for accountability and reforms to protect the state’s women.
