In light of growing concerns about urea shortage across Telangana, Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsikrishna visited the Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL) plant to assess the current production levels and distribution mechanisms. The visit focused on addressing public anxiety over fertilizer availability during the ongoing agricultural season.
In-Depth Review of Urea Production and Distribution
During his visit, MP Vamsikrishna held a comprehensive review meeting with the General Manager of RFCL. The discussions revolved around the following key areas:
- Current daily production capacity of the plant
- Total metric tons of urea being distributed to Telangana
- Supply chain logistics, including transportation and warehousing
- Linkage and allocation policies for various districts
- Possibilities for direct delivery to farmers at the grassroots level
He also inquired about the availability and production status of *other fertilizers, including *phosphatic and complex varieties (NP/NPK), and suggested exploring avenues for their increased local production if necessary.
Ensuring Maximum Output & Farmer Welfare
MP Vamsikrishna emphasized the need to run the RFCL plant at full operational capacity to meet rising demand and ensure no farmer in the state faces a shortage.
“We will coordinate across all levels to ensure uninterrupted fertilizer supply. If required, I will escalate the matter with the Union Government. Telangana’s farmers deserve full support,” he assured.
He also addressed issues faced by plant workers, including wages, job security, and working conditions, promising that he would work closely with authorities to resolve them.

RFCL’s revival holds historical and regional significance. It was Dr. Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy, then MP of Peddapalli and father of Vamsikrishna, who played a pivotal role in bringing the plant back to life.
