Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting his parliamentary constituency Varanasi tomorrow for a major development-focused tour. The visit is expected to highlight both infrastructure expansion and farmers’ welfare initiatives.
As part of his itinerary, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for various development projects worth around ₹2,200 crore. These include urban infrastructure, transportation upgrades, and public amenities aimed at improving the quality of life in the holy city.
One of the key highlights of this visit will be the release of the *20th installment of PM-KISAN funds. Modi will digitally transfer *₹20,500 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 9.7 crore farmers across India. This initiative falls under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, a flagship welfare program supporting small and marginal farmers with ₹6,000 annually.
Officials said elaborate security and logistical arrangements have been made in Varanasi in view of the high-profile visit. Local authorities and BJP party workers are gearing up to welcome the Prime Minister with cultural performances and public gatherings.
This marks another key step by the Modi government in promoting “Viksit Bharat” by focusing on both urban development and grassroots-level support for the agrarian sector.
The PM’s tour of Varanasi also comes ahead of crucial political timelines, signaling the government’s focus on development and direct benefit transfers (DBTs) as tools for social transformation.
Key Highlights of PM Modi’s Varanasi Visit:
- Inauguration and foundation laying of ₹2,200 crore projects
- 20th installment of PM-KISAN Yojana to be released
- Over 9.7 crore farmers to benefit from ₹20,500 crore DBT
