Request for New Electricity Substation in Chigurumamidi Mandal

*Chigurumamidi, August 21, 2024* – Due to persistent issues with electricity supply, residents and farmers in Chigurumamidi mandal have appealed for a new electricity substation. Former ZP floor leader Geekuru Ravinder, along with Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and local former ZPTC members, presented the case to the minister. They highlighted that overloaded transformers are causing frequent breakdowns in Chigurumamidi mandal, Bommanapelli, Sundaragiri, and Ullampelli villages. Additionally, the central area of Chigurumamidi Mandal experiences disruptions even during light showers, despite being connected to four feeders. The issue, previously raised with electricity authorities 3-4 years ago, has not yet been resolved. To address these challenges, the petitioners requested the establishment of a new 33/11 kV electricity substation in Sundaragiri village, noting that a suitable site for the substation has already been secured. The minister responded positively to the request and has instructed the preparation of proposals with the electricity authorities.Deputy Chief Minister and Power Department Minister Matyulu Bhatti also assured that he would support the proposal and coordinate with relevant officials to expedite the process.
