The Telangana government is reportedly considering all legal options to retain HYDRAA Commissioner Ranganath despite the Telangana High Court’s order directing his removal over alleged contempt of court.
According to reports, the Congress government is exploring ways to continue Ranganath in the same position, as HYDRAA has been one of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s flagship initiatives. Senior officials, including the Chief Secretary, are said to be consulting legal experts on the available legal remedies.
The government is expected to argue before the court that the appointment of government officials falls within the executive’s jurisdiction. A final decision on moving a Division Bench is likely after the Chief Minister returns from Delhi.
The developments come after the High Court reportedly directed that Ranganath be removed from his post, citing alleged contempt of court.
