Tension prevailed in Telangana politics after remarks made by Minister Ponnam Prabhakar against fellow minister Adluri Laxman Kumar sparked strong outrage among Dalit organizations.
The controversy has snowballed into a major political storm, with Dalit groups demanding an unconditional apology from Minister Ponnam for his alleged remarks. Several organizations have warned that they would lay siege to the minister’s residence if he fails to issue a public apology soon.
