SFI Calls for Telangana Bandh on October 30 Over Pending Fee Reimbursements and Scholarships

Hyderabad, October 22, 2025:

The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) has announced a statewide Telangana bandh on October 30 demanding the immediate release of pending fee reimbursement funds and student scholarships.

In a statement released by the SFI State Committee, the organization said that engineering, degree, and postgraduate colleges, along with universities across Telangana, will remain closed in support of the protest.

The SFI criticized the state government for *delaying the disbursement of fee reimbursement funds, saying the issue has severely impacted thousands of students, particularly from economically weaker sections. The student body urged the government to *address the financial hurdles faced by students and ensure that educational institutions cooperate with them.

They also demanded that colleges issue certificates to students regardless of pending dues and warned against institutions that continue to *withhold certificates while demanding unpaid fees. The SFI called on the authorities to *take strict action against such colleges, emphasizing that students’ future should not be jeopardized due to administrative delays.

The bandh is expected to gain significant participation from universities, technical institutions, and student unions across the state. Student leaders stated that the protest aims to draw the government’s attention toward long-standing financial grievances affecting the education sector in Telangana.
