In a stern move against drunk driving, the Siddipet Second Class Judicial Magistrate, Kantharao, imposed fines and short-term jail sentences on several traffic violators. The judgment comes after recent checks conducted by the local traffic police.
Special Drive Targets Drunk Drivers
A few days ago, *Traffic CI Praveen Kumar, along with his team, carried out surprise inspections across key locations in Siddipet town. During these checks, *nine motorists were found driving under the influence of alcohol.
The offenders were booked under applicable sections and produced before the court on Friday. The judicial magistrate took a strong stand and imposed a total fine of ₹14,500 on the group. Among them, four individuals were sentenced to two days in jail.

Speaking to the media, officers emphasized that drunk driving is a major cause of road accidents and must be dealt with strictly. “Such actions are not just illegal but also risk innocent lives,” a traffic official said.
The Siddipet police have warned that regular checks will continue across the district, especially during weekends and festive periods. Authorities are urging citizens to act responsibly and avoid mixing alcohol with driving.
