Supreme Court Grants Relief to Chandrababu Naidu in Cash-for-Vote Scam

*New Delhi* – In a major legal development, the Supreme Court has provided a significant relief to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the cash-for-vote scam. The court dismissed two petitions seeking to include Naidu as an accused in the case and to transfer the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).The petitions, filed by YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, were rejected by a bench led by Justice Sundaresh. The bench not only dismissed the petitions but also issued a stern warning to Reddy, admonishing him for attempting to use the judiciary for political purposes. This ruling upholds an earlier decision by the Andhra Pradesh High Court, which had also dismissed Reddy’s attempts to implicate Naidu in the scandal. The Supreme Court’s decision is a significant setback for the YSRCP and a considerable relief for Naidu and his supporters. The cash-for-vote scam case, which has been a major point of contention in Andhra Pradesh politics, continues to be a focal issue as Naidu’s legal team and political allies celebrate this latest court decision.
