*New Delhi, 29 July 2024* — In celebration of its 75th year, the Supreme Court of India is set to organize a Special Lok Adalat from July 29 to August 3, 2024. This initiative aims to promote amicable resolutions and expedite the disposal of suitable pending cases through alternative dispute resolution.The Special Lok Adalat will focus on cases that are conducive to settlement. These include matrimonial disputes, property disputes, motor accident claims, land acquisition issues, compensation matters, and service and labour disputes. The Supreme Court’s effort reflects its ongoing commitment to making justice more accessible and efficient for all segments of society.Lok Adalats are a vital part of India’s judicial system, providing an alternative to traditional court proceedings and facilitating quicker and more harmonious resolutions. This special session aligns with the Supreme Court’s dedication to enhancing justice delivery and addressing case backlog effectively.
