Telangana: BJP Stages Protest in Karimnagar Over Pending Fee Reimbursement Dues

Karimnagar, Telangana: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its protest over pending fee reimbursement and scholarship dues in Telangana.

BJP and BJYM leaders staged a dharna in Karimnagar. They demanded that the state government release the pending amounts without further delay.

The protest was held under the banner “Fee Bakayi – BJP Ladai”. Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao addressed the gathering.

Rao alleged that nearly 20 lakh students across the state were waiting for fee reimbursement and scholarship payments. He also claimed that about ₹8,000 crore in fee reimbursement dues were pending.

BJP Targets Telangana Government Over Student Dues

The BJP leader criticised the Congress government over the delay in releasing the funds.

Rao alleged that the government had failed to release even the ₹2,000 crore reportedly proposed as an advance towards the pending dues.

He said the delay was affecting students as well as educational institutions.

According to the BJP, several colleges are facing financial pressure because of the unpaid reimbursement amounts. The party has warned that its agitation will continue until the dues are cleared.

Fee Reimbursement Issue Becomes Major Political Flashpoint

The fee reimbursement issue has become a major point of political confrontation in Telangana.

The BJP has repeatedly targeted Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over the pending payments. The party has also demanded faster action on scholarship arrears.

The issue has also drawn protests from student organisations and college managements in different parts of the state.

The Telangana BJP recently intensified its campaign with a 48-hour hunger strike by Ramchander Rao. The party estimated the overall pending fee reimbursement dues at ₹15,000 crore during that agitation.

The government’s response and the release of funds are now likely to remain under close political scrutiny.
