Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Invites Rajnath Singh to Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has invited Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to attend the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026 and inaugurate the proposed Defence Expo 2026.
The three-day global summit is scheduled to take place from December 7 to 9 at Bharat Future City in Telangana.
Revanth Reddy extended the invitation during a meeting with Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Wednesday. Several MPs and senior Telangana government officials also attended the meeting.
Defence Expo 2026 to Highlight Aerospace and Defence Sector
During the meeting, the Chief Minister outlined Telangana’s plans for the Defence Expo 2026.
The event is expected to feature a dedicated conference covering the aerospace, defence and space sectors.
An air show, industrial exhibition and live demonstrations of land-based defence systems are also planned.
Revanth Reddy said the participation of the Defence Minister would encourage defence companies, startups and young scientists from across India.
The Telangana government is seeking strong support from the Union Defence Ministry to make the expo an international-level event.
Telangana Seeks Air Force Support for Air Show
The Chief Minister requested assistance from the Defence Ministry for the necessary airspace clearances for the proposed air show.
He also sought the participation of Indian Air Force aircraft.
The state has requested performances by the Surya Kiran and Sarang aerobatic teams as part of the event.
Telangana also wants to organise a static aircraft display during the expo.
Advanced defence systems from the Army, Navy and Air Force are proposed to be showcased at the exhibition.
Senior officers and representatives from the three armed services are also expected to be invited.
Defence PSUs and DRDO Laboratories Invited
The Telangana government wants major defence public sector companies to participate in Defence Expo 2026.
These include HAL, BEL, BDL and MDL, along with laboratories of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
The proposed participation is aimed at showcasing India’s indigenous defence technologies.
The state also requested support for meetings involving foreign defence officials and bilateral defence delegations.
International defence industry leaders are also expected to be part of the discussions around the expo.
Telangana Offers 416.18 Acres for DRDL Project
The meeting also covered a major defence-related project proposed in Mahabubnagar district.
Revanth Reddy informed Rajnath Singh that the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) has agreed to allot 416.18 acres in Devarakadra mandal.
The land is intended for a project under the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL).
According to the proposal, the land will be leased for 33 years at a nominal annual rent of just ₹1 for the entire parcel.
The proposal also provides for two further lease extensions, if required.
The move is part of Telangana’s wider efforts to attract defence and aerospace-related projects to the state. Recent reports have also linked the Devarakadra site with a major defence manufacturing initiative.
Adilabad Airport Plan Gains Momentum
The proposed Adilabad Airport was another key issue discussed during the meeting.
The Chief Minister said Telangana has already undertaken land acquisition for 750 acres for the airport project.
The Defence Ministry has sought a total of 1,500 acres.
Revanth Reddy assured the Union Defence Minister that the state is ready to acquire another 750 acres.
The expanded land requirement is linked to plans for developing the airport as a larger defence and aviation facility.
Earlier discussions have included civil aviation facilities, cargo infrastructure, MRO facilities and hangar infrastructure at the proposed airport.
Telangana Targets Stronger Defence and Aerospace Ecosystem
The latest proposals underline Telangana’s push to strengthen its position in India’s aerospace and defence ecosystem.
Hyderabad already has a significant presence in aerospace, defence research and technology-related activities.
The state government now wants the Invest Telangana Global Summit to provide a larger platform for domestic and international investment.
The Defence Expo is expected to connect defence companies, startups, research institutions and government agencies.
The government believes such an event could also create opportunities for technology partnerships and investment in Telangana.
Who Attended the Revanth Reddy-Rajnath Singh Meeting?
Telangana Energy Minister Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy attended the meeting.
MPs Anil Kumar Yadav, Dr Mallu Ravi, Suresh Kumar Shetkar and Porika Balram Naik were also present.
State Government Advisor (Protocol) Harkara Venugopal Rao and Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju participated in the discussions.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Telangana and the Union Defence Ministry on defence infrastructure, research and investment.
With the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026 approaching, the state is positioning the event as a major platform for showcasing Telangana’s investment opportunities.
