Telangana CM Revanth Reddy to Meet Amit Shah Over Flood Damage

Hyderabad, September 12, 2024 – Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is set to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi today to discuss the extensive damage caused by recent rains and floods in the state. The meeting will focus on the severe impact on the joint districts of Khammam, Nalgonda, and Warangal, where large-scale damage to rural, mandal, and district-level roads has been reported.During the meeting, CM Reddy is expected to provide a detailed account of the damage and outline the state government’s measures to assist affected victims. He will also request increased support from the central government for the families of those who lost their lives in the floods.In a prior communication, CM Reddy estimated the losses at Rs. 5,438 crore and had appealed to the Prime Minister on September 2nd to declare the floods a national calamity and visit the affected areas. The Chief Minister is anticipated to discuss the compensation provided by the state government and seek additional support from the Center.Interestingly, it appears that CM Reddy will not be discussing the expansion of the PCC working group or the cabinet with the Congress high command during this visit.
