The Telangana High Court has strongly questioned the actions of HYDRAA in two separate cases, expressing concern over alleged procedural lapses in land-related matters.
In one case, Justice B. Vijay Sen Reddy directed HYDRAA to remove within 24 hours a board installed on a private property in Saheb Nagar Colony, Hayathnagar Mandal, which identified the land as government property. The court criticized the authorities for acting without issuing notices to the landowners. The order came while hearing a petition filed by Jhansi and another petitioner challenging the board installed on Plot No. 10. The High Court also directed the authorities to file a detailed counter and adjourned the matter to August 11.
In another case, Justice N.P. Shravan Kumar questioned HYDRAA and the Serilingampally Tahsildar over the demolition of a compound wall and watchman’s room on a 350-square-yard private plot in Kondapur. The petition was filed by Pemmasani Sudharani, who challenged the demolition. The court sought to know on what basis the Tahsildar informed HYDRAA that the land was government property and questioned why demolitions were carried out without issuing prior notices or providing an opportunity for explanation.
The High Court directed the Serilingampally Tahsildar to appear personally on July 30 and explain the actions taken. The hearing has been adjourned.
