Hyderabad: Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) has upgraded the power transformer capacity at the 33/11 kV Chevella Substation from 5 MVA to 8 MVA, further strengthening the electricity infrastructure in the region.
The upgrade was carried out under the directions of TGSPDCL Chairman & Managing Director Jitesh V. Patil, IAS, and has been successfully commissioned.

The enhanced transformer capacity will improve the quality and reliability of power supply to Chevella, Damaragidda, Ibrahimpally, Ramannaguda, Mirzaguda, Gundala, and Malkapur villages.
More than 23,000 electricity consumers are expected to benefit directly from the project, including:
15,000 domestic consumers3,700 commercial consumers4,610 agricultural consumers
The capacity enhancement will help manage increasing power demand, improve voltage quality, reduce supply interruptions, and support future domestic, commercial, and agricultural electricity connections.
Senior officials from TGSPDCL’s RR Zone, Cyber City Circle, Ibrahim Bagh Division, and Chevella Sub-Division participated in the commissioning of the upgraded transformer.
