Tirupati SP Urges Citizens to Celebrate a Safe and Responsible Diwali

As the nation prepares to celebrate the festival of lights, *Tirupati District Superintendent of Police (SP) Sri Y.L. Subbarayudu, IPS, has extended warm *Diwali greetings to the people of the district. He emphasized that “a safe Diwali is everyone’s responsibility”, urging citizens to follow all safety guidelines to ensure a joyous and accident-free celebration.


Strict Safety Instructions for Firecracker Shops

In light of the temporary firecracker stalls being set up across the district, SP Subbarayudu has issued strict safety directives to all shop owners and authorities.

He instructed that only licensed vendors be permitted to sell firecrackers and that *fire safety rules must be followed without exception. Every temporary stall must have *water buckets, sand, and fire extinguishers ready at all times.

The SP also revealed that fire engines and emergency medical aid centers have been arranged in coordination with the Fire Department and Health Department to deal with any unforeseen incidents.


Public Safety and Traffic Management

To manage the heavy crowds expected in marketplaces and public areas, additional police forces have been deployed for crowd control and safety monitoring.
“The Tirupati District Police are taking all necessary steps to ensure that citizens celebrate Diwali peacefully and safely,” said SP Subbarayudu.

The SP issued a stern warning that unauthorized storage or sale of fireworks poses serious life risks. He appealed to the public to report any illegal activity related to firecrackers immediately to the police.

“There will be zero tolerance for those engaged in unauthorized sales or storage of firecrackers,” he clarified.

SP Subbarayudu urged families to keep children under strict adult supervision while bursting crackers. He also advised people not to light firecrackers on public roads or near flammable items like gas cylinders.
