Trainee IPS officer Uday Krishna Reddy has lodged a complaint before the Upparpally Magistrate, alleging that Cyberabad CP Sajjanar made objectionable remarks during his interrogation and threatened him and his family members.
Reddy, who was produced before the Magistrate after the completion of his custody at Attapur Police Station, alleged that police officials violated procedures during his custody and behaved inappropriately with him.
He further alleged that he was taken to the Task Force office, where he was subjected to physical and verbal harassment. He also claimed that interrogation took place at locations without CCTV cameras.
During the hearing, Reddy reportedly broke down before the Magistrate and requested that notices be issued to CP Sajjanar and all police personnel involved in his interrogation. His lawyers also questioned the participation of retired ACP Purnachander Rao in the interrogation.
The complaint further alleged that threats were made against his lawyers and that the careers of 13 Telugu trainee IPS officers would also be ruined.
Taking the allegations seriously, the Magistrate issued notices to Attapur police and served a show-cause notice on the Attapur Inspector, questioning how interrogation was conducted at a location without CCTV cameras. The Inspector was directed to submit an explanation within two days.
The court has also issued notices concerning the petition filed by Uday Krishna Reddy against the Attapur police.
