**New Delhi** — Senior IAS officer Vipin Kumar has officially taken charge as the Chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) as of October 28. A 1996-batch officer from the Bihar cadre, Kumar brings extensive experience to his new role, having previously served as Additional Secretary in the Department of School Education and Literacy within the Union Education Ministry.Before his appointment at AAI, Kumar held significant positions in Bihar, including serving as the District Magistrate and as Chairman of the Bihar Bridge Construction Corporation. His diverse background and administrative expertise are expected to contribute positively to the AAI’s ongoing efforts to enhance airport infrastructure and operations across the country.As the new Chairman, Vipin Kumar will oversee the development and management of airports, ensuring safety, efficiency, and service excellence in India’s aviation sector.
