Sanathnagar TIMS Inauguration – Who Deserves the Credit?

The plan to establish four super-specialty hospitals in different parts of Hyderabad was initiated by the previous BRS government. In February 2023, the construction contract for TIMS Sanathnagar was awarded to Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited.

When the Congress government took charge in December 2023, only around 13% of the hospital construction had reportedly been completed.

After assuming office, the Revanth Reddy government accelerated the remaining 87% of the work, investing more than ₹1,100 crore and bringing the hospital to the stage of inauguration.

With 1,082 beds, including 300 ICU beds, TIMS Sanathnagar is positioned to provide corporate-level healthcare services. The hospital also introduces an AI-powered pneumatic tube system, described as a first-of-its-kind in the country.

So, who deserves the credit? The original concept and project initiation belong to the previous BRS government. However, the Congress government claims credit for expediting the largely incomplete project and bringing it to completion and inauguration.

In short: the project was conceived and initiated under the previous government, while the remaining major construction and completion were carried out under the Revanth Reddy government.
