A 21-year-old woman, Rehana, was allegedly murdered in Bismillah Colony under the limits of Balapur Police Station, Hyderabad, late Sunday night.
According to police, Rehana and 21-year-old Ahmed Salam were reportedly in a relationship and had been staying together for around three months. Both were also reportedly working at the same function hall.
Police said the couple had an argument, following which Ahmed allegedly attacked Rehana with a knife. He reportedly placed her body inside a sack and informed his employer about the incident. The employer immediately alerted police through Dial 100
When police reached the residence, Ahmed allegedly attempted to flee and hid on the rooftop. Balapur Police searched the premises and arrested him from the terrace.
The deceased’s body was shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and police are investigating the motive and circumstances surrounding the incident.
