Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu Orders World-Class Arrangements for 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to make elaborate arrangements for the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu.

The 12-day religious festival will be held from June 26 to July 7, 2027. The dates have also been confirmed by the Andhra Pradesh government.

Naidu called for the celebrations to be organised on a grand scale. He stressed devotion, discipline and modern infrastructure.

The Chief Minister said devotees and tourists arriving from India and abroad must face no inconvenience.

He directed officials to provide world-class infrastructure, transport, sanitation, drinking water and medical facilities.

Special attention will also be given to accommodation and security arrangements. Technology will be used extensively for crowd management and other services.

Naidu also called for the active participation of local residents in the Pushkaralu arrangements. He said local communities should become important partners in hosting the massive religious event.

The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of ongoing works at the Secretariat. The review covered 4,932 works being taken up at an estimated cost of ₹4,026 crore.

Officials briefed him on the progress of infrastructure and other projects planned for the Pushkaralu.

The government is preparing to handle a massive influx of pilgrims. Earlier plans indicated that the festival would be organised across six districts along the Godavari. Officials have also been working on hundreds of bathing ghats and related facilities.

The Andhra Pradesh government has said the Pushkaralu will be organised on a scale comparable to the Maha Kumbh Mela. Large numbers of devotees are expected to participate in the 12-day festival.

Rajamahendravaram and other important Godavari pilgrimage centres are expected to remain major focus areas. Plans include improved roads, ghats, sanitation systems, accommodation and medical services.

The meeting was attended by Ministers Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, BC Janardhan Reddy and Y. Satya Kumar Yadav.

Godavari Pushkaralu Special Officer and Principal Secretary of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department Suresh Kumar also participated.

Senior officials from various departments attended the review meeting.

The 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu is expected to become one of Andhra Pradesh’s biggest religious and tourism events. The state government is therefore focusing on infrastructure, pilgrim safety and efficient crowd management well ahead of the festival.
