Jamia Nizamia Raidurg Waqf Land Row: JAC Members Meet Waqf Board Chairman, CEO; Alleged Misbehaviour Sparks Tension
Hyderabad, August 27, 2026: The dispute over Jamia Nizamia’s alleged Waqf land in Raidurg has taken a fresh turn.
A Joint Action Committee (JAC) reportedly reached the Telangana Waqf Board office on Thursday. The delegation sought a meeting with the Waqf Board Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
The JAC wanted to discuss the ongoing controversy surrounding Jamia Nizamia’s land in Raidurg. The delegation also sought clarity on the Waqf Board’s stand and the steps being taken to protect the property.
According to the delegation, some employees and security personnel allegedly behaved inappropriately with the members. The incident reportedly led to a tense exchange at the office.
Advocate Adnan Qamar strongly objected to the alleged behaviour. He reportedly questioned the manner in which the delegation was treated while seeking an official meeting.
The Raidurg land dispute has been continuing for several years. Recent developments have brought the issue back into the spotlight after land in Survey No. 83/1 was linked to Waqf records and Jamia Nizamia.
Earlier reports said the Telangana Waqf Board had recorded the property in its records. The disputed land has also been linked to the UMEED portal, according to reports citing Waqf Board sources.
The legal history of Survey No. 83 in Raidurg is also lengthy. A Telangana High Court case records Jamia Nizamia’s claim that substantial land in the survey number was Waqf property.
The current controversy is therefore not limited to one meeting. It is part of a larger dispute involving Waqf records, land ownership and government action.
The JAC is expected to press for greater transparency from the Waqf Board. It may also seek preservation of relevant land and Waqf records.
The alleged incident involving employees and security personnel has added a new dimension to the dispute. The matter could now draw further attention from community organisations and Waqf activists.
