Nagarkurnool Power Infrastructure Gets Major Boost as 8 MVA Transformer Installed at Peddur Substation
Nagarkurnool, August 27, 2026: Telangana’s Nagarkurnool electricity circle has taken another step towards strengthening its power infrastructure.
An 8 MVA Power Transformer (PTR) has been successfully installed at the 33/11 kV Peddur substation.
The new transformer replaces the existing 5 MVA power transformer. It has also been successfully charged and brought into service.
The capacity upgrade is expected to improve power supply reliability in Peddur and surrounding areas. It will also help meet the region’s growing electricity demand.
Officials said the higher-capacity transformer would help reduce overloading at the substation. It is also expected to minimise power interruptions.
The upgraded infrastructure will benefit both domestic and agricultural consumers. Improved voltage stability and better supply quality are expected to support consumers in the area.
The replacement work was completed through coordinated efforts by officials and staff from the AE/OP/Telkapally and AE/TRE/Nagarkurnool units.
Personnel from the Lines Wing and TRE Wing also participated in the work.
