Trump Honors 9/11 Victims, Praises American Resilience and Unity
Washington, DC: US President Donald Trump honored the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks at a memorial event on Tuesday.
The ceremony was held at the Ellipse outside the White House. It came days before the 25th anniversary of the attacks.
Trump paid tribute to the victims, survivors and first responders who faced the tragedy 25 years ago.
He stressed the importance of remembering those who lost their lives. He also highlighted the strength and resilience shown by Americans after the attacks.
The event was organized by the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. A 21-foot steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center was displayed during the ceremony.
Trump also honored Welles Crowther, widely remembered as the “man in the red bandana.” Crowther helped save people trapped inside the South Tower before losing his own life.
The president posthumously awarded Crowther the Presidential Medal of Freedom. His family accepted the nation’s highest civilian honor on his behalf.
Trump also remembered firefighter Jeffrey Palazzo and other first responders who died while serving others.
The president specifically recognized the hundreds of firefighters and police officers killed during the attacks. Their sacrifice remains a central part of America’s 9/11 remembrance.
Around 150 first responders from New York, Washington and Pennsylvania attended the memorial event.
Trump called for the country to preserve the memory of 9/11 and the people who demonstrated courage that day. He renewed America’s commitment to never forget the victims.
The September 11 attacks killed nearly 3,000 people. Hijacked planes struck the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, while another plane crashed in Pennsylvania.
The attacks changed American society and national security policies. Their impact continues to shape the lives of families, first responders and survivors.
As the 25th anniversary approaches, memorial events across the United States are focusing on remembrance, service and the enduring legacy of September 11.
