**Hyderabad, India** — In a shocking discovery, Excise Enforcement Police have busted an ice cream parlor in Jubilee Hills for selling whiskey-infused ice cream, including to minors. The authorities seized 11.5 kg of the alcohol-laced ice cream, which contained 100 Pipers whiskey, from Ariko Café Ice Cream Parlor located at Roads 11 and 55 in the upscale Jubilee Hills area.According to the excise department, the parlor was mixing 60ml of whiskey into each kilogram of ice cream and selling it at inflated prices. Even more alarming, the shop advertised the whiskey-infused product on social media platforms, including Facebook, to attract more customers, many of whom were children.Excise Superintendent Pradeep Rao, who led the operation, explained that this is a violation of Section 34A of the Excise Act, which strictly prohibits the sale of alcohol to minors. “Selling alcohol-based products to children is a serious violation, and strict legal action will be taken,” Rao stated. Two individuals, Dayakar Reddy and Shobhan, have been accused of manufacturing the whiskey-laced ice cream. A case has been registered against them, and further investigations are ongoing. The café, operated by Gattu Sarath Chandra Reddy, is now under scrutiny for its involvement in this illegal operation.This incident has raised concerns about the safety and regulation of food products in the city, with authorities promising to intensify efforts to curb such violations.
