New Delhi: AISA President Neha Bora welcomed support from opposition parties for the ongoing student protests over alleged examination paper leaks and issues in the examination system.
Speaking on the protests, Neha Bora said the CJP protest was a continuation of the struggles that Left student organisations have been raising for years. She said it was encouraging to see greater participation of young people, adding that previous crackdowns had limited public support.
She also criticised remarks that allegedly described protesting youth as “pests” or “unwanted people,” calling such statements disrespectful to students.
Highlighting concerns over examinations, Bora claimed that the Sociology paper of the UGC-NET examination was leaked during the protest period. She also alleged that a student was unable to complete an examination because of a server issue, describing it as evidence of inefficiencies in the examination system.
Calling for broader political involvement, Bora said political parties should actively participate in public movements and raise people’s concerns in Parliament. She added that AISA appreciated support from opposition parties, including Congress, and expressed willingness to organise joint protests on issues affecting students.
