BRS Leaders Visit Tamil Nadu to Study BC Reservations

**Hyderabad**, *September 26, 2024*: A delegation of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders is set to visit Tamil Nadu today to study the implementation of Backward Classes (BC) reservations in the state. The 25-member team, led by Madhusudhanachari, the Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana Legislative Council, and former minister Srinivas Goud, aims to gather insights into Tamil Nadu’s policies on BC welfare and reservation practices.During their visit, the BRS leaders will meet with key officials, including Tamil Nadu’s BC Welfare Minister, the Chairman of the BC Commission, and the Secretary, on Thursday. They will discuss various aspects of the state’s reservation policy, which has been a model for many others in the country. The delegation will also hold a meeting with leaders of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) at the party office on Friday.The primary focus of the visit is to understand the implementation, challenges, and outcomes of BC reservations in Tamil Nadu, which has historically been a pioneer in affirmative action for backward classes. The BRS team plans to submit a detailed report to the party leadership upon their return, which may influence future policies in Telangana regarding reservations and BC welfare programs.
