Charminar Task Force Busts Interstate Ganja Racket, 3 Arrested; 22.22 Kg Ganja Worth ₹12 Lakh Seized

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, Charminar Zone, along with Balapur Police, arrested three interstate ganja peddlers near Sadat Nagar Bus Stop in Shaheen Nagar, Balapur, on July 21. Police seized 22.22 kg of dry ganja, four mobile phones, two trolley bags, and one backpack, with the total value of the seized property estimated at ₹12 lakh.

The arrested accused have been identified as Mirza Jaffer Baig alias Saddam (35), Awad Bin Ali Yafai alias Awad (22), and Sardar Manpreet Singh Dhillon alias Dhillon (22), all residents of Hyderabad.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to procuring the ganja from Berhampur, Odisha, transporting it by train up to Khammam and then by bus to Hyderabad to avoid police surveillance. They were intercepted while waiting to deliver the contraband to a customer.

Police also identified Ibrahim Bin Saleem Baamar alias Ibrahim Baamar of Balapur, who allegedly arranged the procurement and transportation, and Janni alias Sunny of Berhampur, Odisha, believed to be the supplier. Both are absconding, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest them.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Inspector S. Saidababu of the Charminar Zone Task Force, along with SI M. Madhu, SI M. Mahesh, SI K. Rama Rao, PC S. Balchander, and the Balapur Police team.
